Following popular discussions on hiking, the modern essay, YA/middle grade novels and poetry the Springfield Public Library is giving you another chance to celebrate local authors with sports columnist Austin Meek. As the final event of Springfield Celebrates Authors 2019, Meek will present “Covering Sports in TrackTown USA” on Saturday, May 11 at 2 p.m. The talk will delve into Lane County’s role in the birth of the recreational running movement as well as covering Oregon sports. Meek, who has been named a top-10 columnist four times by the Associated Press Sports Editors, has been a sports columnist at The Register-Guard since 2013 and studied journalism at Kansas State University.
Springfield Celebrates Authors is an annual series presented by the Springfield Public Library highlighting local, national and international authors.
